Raks Sharqi/Danse Orientale, commonly known as belly dancing, is an art form from the Middle East which stretches back to ancient times. It is related to worship of the gods, celebration of life, love and women. It is a very sensual and feminine form of dance.

Objectives for Desert Veils

1. To promote self confidence, self esteem, health and enjoyment in women of all shapes, sizes and ages by teaching the art of belly dancing.

2. To contribute to the understanding of the dance by performing in a way that expresses and celebrates the sensual, the feminine, the passionate, and the joy in the dance thereby helping to dispel the myths often associated with this art.
